All entries should include one hard copy of all materials and electronic copies of all materials, if appropriate. Please send all materials in a single package for each entry. Electronic portions of the entry (DIGITAL PHOTOS, GRAPHICS AND NARRATIVE) should be submitted on the same disk. Diskette, CD, or ZIP disks are acceptable.

Send Submissions to:

Entry Form:

Complete one entry form for each entry. Make sure to indicate whether entry is for a single or multi-book shipping package.

Submission of sample packaging (optional)

Sample Packaging: If submitting a package, one sample of each competing package should be submitted and will be displayed if the package is awarded a prize. In addition, digital photos of the package showing the key elements of the packaging are required and will be used during the judging process. Label each package and digital photo with the appropriate entry name.

No Sample Packaging: If not submitting a packaging sample, a detailed graphic of the packaging design should be submitted in hard copy, no larger than 24" x 24". In addition, an electronic version of the packaging design showing the key elements of the packaging should be submitted in electronic format (*.tiff, *.jpeg). Label all graphics with the appropriate entry name.

Please note that sample packaging and graphics will not be returned.

Written Narratives

The judges are influenced by what they see and read. And you, the entrant, provide that information. Be factual, technical and detailed in your writing. ALL NARRATIVE INFORMATION SHOULD ALSO BE SUBMITTED IN ELECTRONIC FORMAT, as Word or Text files.

Include each of the following:

Brief Narrative: Describe the cradle to cradle attributes of your design, in a 50 word narrative on a separate sheet (listing the entry name). This information may be used in publicity materials.

Expanded Narrative: Please provide no more than a single page description of your overall design concept (all entries need to address recovery logistics) stressing cradle to cradle attributes and pertinent judging criteria. In addition, respond to all applicable questions or issues under the judging criteria that pertain to your entry (your answers will be the judges’ primary way of evaluating your entry). Please make sure that criteria are explicitly referenced by the appropriate name or number. The expanded narrative should not exceed seven (7) typewritten pages.

Special Note: It is to the candidate's benefit to be as detailed in the narratives as possible. Also, if one of the judging criteria is not applicable to your package design, then indicate this in your expanded narrative. (Example: Economics. No significant cost reduction realized.)
