William McDonough
and Dr. Michael Braungart
founded McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry,
LLC (MBDC) in 1995 to help promote and shape what
they call the "Next Industrial Revolution."
The two had previously collaborated on a variety
of projects: In 1992, Michael Braungart contributed
to William McDonough's writing of The Hannover
Principles: Design for Sustainability, the
City of Hannover, Germany's sustainable design
guidelines for the World's Fair, EXPO 2000. In
1995, they collaborated on the design of a line
of compostable commercial fabrics for DesignTex,
a division of Steelcase International.
Since its inception, MBDC has grown to serve
dozens of clients around the globe. Our clients
include the largest, most innovative corporations
in the world as well as smaller forward-thinking
companies.
